After 5 yrs, Ranbir and Alia wrap up Brahmastra

Mumbai: Finally, it’s a wrap. Director Ayan Mukerji has wrapped up the shooting of Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor after five years.

Ayan has shared a picture with Ranbir and Alia from their visit to Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi on completing the film. Taking to Instagram, the young director has shared a photo featuring both actors on a boat posing with several others. ““And finally… It’s a Wrap!” Ayan announced.

The director also wrote, “5 years since we took our first shot on Brahmāstra, and we’ve finally filmed our last one! Absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey!!! Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of ‘Part One: Shiva’ in Varanasi – a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too at the most sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blessings. Exciting days ahead, last lap ahead ! 09.09.2022 – Here we come !”

Ayan also announced the release date of the film. Brahmastra will hit theatres on September 9, 2022.

Alia, who recently had a success with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi , took to Instagram to share a picture where she, her actor boyfriend Kapoor and Mukerji were seen outside a temple. She said the film has been in the making since 2018 and for the longest time, the actress has been wanting to announce when it will wrap up.

Alia wrote, “We started shooting in 2018. And now … finally .. The filming of Brahmastra (Part One) comes to an end !! I’ve been wanting to say this for such a long time.. ITS A WRAP!!!!!!!! See you at the cinemas. 09.09.2022.”

Brahmastra is a fantasy trilogy produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This is the first film where Ranbir will share screen space with his love interest Alia. Ranbir plays Shiva in the film, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
