Gender equality is a term which is most used all over the world. But achieving gender equality is probably one of the most difficult things around the globe. Gender equality can be achieved only when gender barriers are minimized. There are so many icons who have worked and inspired others in this regard.

Aizya Naaz Joshi, India’s first transsexual to win Ms. Diversity 2018 has played a stellar role in raising awareness on gender rights and bridging gender barriers in India. Let’s not forget that Aizya Naaz Joshi is the first Indian transsexual woman to appear on the cover of a magazine and also happens to be the world’s first Transsexual woman to endorse Klaren, a sanitary napkin.

Last year, she competed against 22 participants from different countries in Dubai. The life of Naaz itself is very inspiring. From being a performer in a dance bar who struggled to make her both ends meet, Naaz has reached the biggest platform in the glamour world. She continues to be a source of inspiration for transsexuals around the world.

This year Aizya Naaz Joshi is curating MIHM Queen Universe 2019. The theme of this year contest is transgender empowerment. Girls from small cities like Korba, Bilaspur, Nagpur and from the metros Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, are joining hands in hand and working towards gender equality.
The turning point in Naaz’s career has been the sex reassignment surgery which she underwent in 2013. At present, Naaz is concentrating on modeling assignments. She said,” Wherever I go, I feel so happy to see that people take inspiration for seeing my achievement. I believe, the people from the sexually marginalized sections of the society will definitely achieve what they believe or look up to.” She has already worked with international fashion designers like Ritu Kumar, Ritu Beri.

Presently, Aizya Naaz Joshi is working hard so that she can help and motivate others to achieve others. Naaz signs out saying, “If I can achieve that, it will be a perfect tribute on my part to all individuals in the trans community.”
