Bachchhan Paandey trailer belongs to ‘menacing’ Akshay Kumar, promises full-on entertainment

Is giving too much away in a trailer the new trend? At least, in Bollywood, it seems so. The trailer of the much-awaited Bachchhan Paandey is out. It’s three and 41 minutes long and seems like we have already seen the whole film, or at least know the plot points.

Ever since the announcement of the film, which is an adaptation of the Tamil film, Jigarthanda, Bachchhan Paandey has been in news. Akshay Kumar, in the posters, with Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon generated enough buzz too.

In the trailer, Akshay displays his wild side and looks menacing as a gangster in this action-comedy.

The trailer opens with Kriti (in Jigarthanda, it was Siddharth as Karthik Subramani) who decides to make a biopic on the life of the ruthless gangster Bachchhan Paandey (in the Tamil film, (Bobby Simha played gangster Sethu). Expect the expected, Kriti aka Myra’s life becomes a mess.

We told you it’s an action-comedy and Akshay does comedy well. But when the director in question is Farhad Samji, expect PJs in the trailer. His intension might have been to make the audience laugh but all he did was crack WhatsApp jokes. That all, lame ones.

So, all the best actors — Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, and Abhimanyu Singh— look wasted in the trailer. Let’s see if the film has the best jokes.

Having said that, the trailer of Bachchhan Paandey will provide you with topnotch entertainment. The entire credit goes to Akshay and his antics. He packs the right punch of action and criminality into Bachchhan Paandey. And you get a glimpse of Akshay’s signature comedy too. From the trailer, you know the film belongs completely to Akshay. A full-on masala entertainer, Bachchhan Paandey will hit theatres during Holi this year, on March 18.
