Mumbai: The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 were declared at a star-studded ceremony on Sunday night in Mumbai’s Hotel Taj Land’s End. Ranveer Singh was declared Best Actor for director Kabir Khan’s 83, while the Best Film award went to Shershaah. Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon won for Family Man 2 and Aranyak, respectively.

Ranveer took to Twitter to share a picture of him posing with the award and wrote, “Honoured to receive the ‘Best Actor’ award for ‘83’ at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022. Thank you for the love @Dpiff_official (sic).”
The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival commemorates the notable contribution made by Dadasaheb Phalke, whom many consider the pioneer of Indian cinema. Starting with his debut film, which is considered India’s first ever full-length feature film, he went on to create history in his career spanning 19 years.
