Lieutenant-General Anil Chauhan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, called on Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of West Bengal, at Raj Bhavan on Thursday (September 26).

This was a courtesy call, where the army commander apprised the Governor of the close and efficient civilian-military bonds in West Bengal, besides the situation along the borders of the state and insurgency-affected states. He assured the Governor of all possible assistance from the army whenever required.
The Governor praised the army’s contribution in nation-building and emphasised the need to work jointly with state government functionaries during various endeavours aimed at the people’s welfare.
