Indian Coast Guard gears up for Cyclone Bulbul

The Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East) in Kolkata, which administers the Coast Guard units in West Bengal & Odisha has initiated actions as per the Standard Operating Procedure prior the onset of the Cyclone ‘Bulbul’.

 

Cyclone Bulbul has intensified into very severe cyclonic storm

Efforts have been launched by the Coast Guard on the West Bengal and Odisha Coast in co-ordination with Fisheries Dept to get back the fishing boats out at sea to the nearest harbour for shelter, since the first warning was issued by IMD on 04 Nov 19. The ICG Ships and aircraft on patrol relayed information regarding the Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ and advised all sea-going vessels, especially the fishing boats, dinghies, to return to the harbour for safety.

 

The Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East) in Kolkata has initiated actions as per the Standard Operating Procedure prior the onset of the Cyclone ‘Bulbul’.

The Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (NE) is in close liaison with the State Governments of Odisha and West Bengal for sharing the inputs on the movement of Cyclone ‘Bulbul’. Disaster Relief Teams and Medical Teams are standby at all ICG Stations for providing disaster relief if the need arises. The updates provided by IMD and other meteorological organisations on the progress of Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ are also being closely monitored.
