Aashna Saran, founder of Aashna Saran Design is one of India’s most sought after wedding design specialists. She started her company, formally known as Aash Studio at the young age of 24 back in 2016. Through the years Aashna Saran has successfully created a niche for some of the most
luxurious and bespoke weddings in India.
To make the big day perfect, a lot of meticulous planning is required. And that is exactly what this woman entrepreneur is putting at ease for all the couples out there. Aashna and her in-house team of over 100 local artisans, a production team and design team, work tirelessly to transform spaces into a harmonious love story. Starting with a questionnaire and development of multiple mood boards Aashna Sharan Design translates a union into design. With perfection in every thread from production to execution each wedding is tailor made and unique. She proactively works in cohesion with ensemble and other details at the wedding to paint the perfect picture.
As a child, Aashna spent long hours with her mother, Seema Singh as they redecorated their house. With an artistic inclination she attended university at Central Saint Martins, London where she pursued Performance Design and Practice. Aashna’s creative expressive self along with her inborn
business acumen has only grown with time.
“Coming from a business family with my parents being entrepreneurs, I always had an inherent inclination towards being an entrepreneur. At the age of 15 I designed and sold flip flops, later on I went on to establishing ‘House of Cushions’. Learning on the job with minimal prior experience really helped me become a self taught entrepreneur and create the basis of Aashna Saran Design” says Aashna
Saran.
Aashna’s attraction towards the wedding industry was an effect of her culture and ethnicity. Born and brought up in a Punjabi family in Mumbai, she attended several weddings, where she would sit back patiently at the Mandap in awe of the two people, who were about to spend their lives together and watch every little ritual with her eyes peeled.
Taking inspiration from these several childhood memories, in 2016 after two successful entrepreneurial ventures she established, Aashna Saran Design. With a keen eye for spatial design Aashna takes every corner moving and maneuvering it with great aesthetic to tell a different story about the couple. Being a self driven independent woman Aashna created a well acknowledged business that has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the wedding space.
Along with being on the decor panel of the prestigious Trident/Oberoi group of Hotels, she has also curated weddings at picturesque spaces in Jaipur like the renowned Fairmont and Marriott. Goa being another obvious choice for weddings, Aashna has repeatedly worked with international chains like
The W, Grand Hyatt and the illustrious Leela. While luxury and grandiose weddings are an integral part of the brand identity, Aashna Saran Design does not shy away from quaint locations like Kovalam, Naukuchiyatal and Alibaug in India.
Aashna’s concepts blend and balance colour, space and aesthetic elements. She designs for and produces events above and beyond weddings, where she diversifies into spatial design. They use their expertise to create unique, beautiful, detailed exhibits for well known brands like Sotheby’s
India, Isharya, Rose Jewellery, YPO (Young Presidents Organisation) and Ulleseys Nardin. Having left no stone unturned Aashna Saran strives to bring her client’s never ending Pinterest board to life.
