Air Force Station Barrackpore organizes mini-marathon to commemorate Diamond Jubilee of EAC

As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Eastern Air Command (EAC) Headquarters, a mini-marathon was held on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the Air Force Station in Barrackpore. The event was flagged off by Station Commander Group Captain KK Gurao. Around 300 air force personnel, along with their families, enthusiastically took part in the run.

 

As part of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Eastern Air Command (EAC) Headquarters, a mini-marathon was held on Sunday, November 3, 2019

 

The Eastern Air Command Headquarters was established in Shillong on June 10, 1963, under the command of Air Vice-Marshal Shivdev Singh. The Command, over the years, has contributed immensely towards humanitarian relief, besides air operations.

 

 

The Station Commander, in his address, stressed the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and encouraged the “air warriors” to take up sports activities to stay fit.  He also emphasised that sports helped people inculcate camaraderie.
