The three wings of the Indian Armed Forces – Indian Army, Indian Naval Services and Indian Air Force on Sunday came together to thank the undaunted service of the thousands of frontline workers who are battling the novel coronavirus pandemic. A colourful aerial salute was organized by the Air Warriors of Eastern Air Command to salute the contribution of the thousands of health workers, cops and doctors working in the eastern and NE states of Assam, Arunachal, Meghalaya and Odisha.

In this unequal fight with one of the most fatal foes, the Covid -19 pandemic the warriors in uniform are playing a distinguished role. Thousands of supermen and wonder women are safeguarding the lives of millions of Indians from the threat of the deadly virus. The three service chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces paid their floral respect to the men and women in khaki at the Police Memorial Delhi.

Along with rest of the country, in Shillong, the medical staffs and hospitals involved in providing relief to patients of COVID-19 were today honoured by Indian Air Force as the flower petal drop was at Bethany, NIEGRIMS as well in Civil Hospital.

As the clock strike, 10:30 am 3 Sukhoi-30 Fighter aircraft which started from Dibrugarh hover over Guwahati before proceeding toward Patna and then to Lucknow. Accompanying it, IAF copper also showered flower petals from a helicopter on Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

A similar situation was witnessed in Arunachal Pradesh, despite bad weather around noon, IAF helicopter showers flower petals at COVID-19 hospitals in Itanagar.

Eastern Air Command says Thank You:
As gratitude to all the Corona Warriors in India, IAF along with sister services is planning to salute these brave warriors of India in its unique way. The planned flypast of the aircraft of the Indian Air Force is to salute the brave COVID warriors who have been tirelessly and selflessly working during these unprecedented times of coronavirus pandemic. IAF has been contributing towards the national effort to contain Corona by supporting mobility of men and material both at International and Domestic level. The aircraft was seen flying at an approximate height of 500 meters to 1000 meters keeping Aerospace safety in mind especially in respect of bird activity

This is the third “gesture of special gratitude” to honour doctors, paramedics, sanitation staff and other front-line workers battling coronavirus. The show of gratitude started in March with Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting people to clap from balconies. A week later, there was a show of solidarity with candlelight.
