Salman Khan to make his Telugu debut with Chiranjeevi’s Godfather

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is all set to make his debut in Telugu film industry. Well, he did so for his good friend and megastar Chiranjeevi.  Salman will be sharing screen space with the South superstar in Godfather, which is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam superhit film Lucifer.

Chiranjeevi welcomed Bhai with a bouquet and called it an absolute joy to team up with him. “Welcome aboard #Godfather, Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan! Your entry has energized everyone & the excitement has gone to the next level. Sharing a screen with you is an absolute joy. Your presence will no doubt give that magical #KICK to the audience,” Chiranjeevi tweeted.

Directed by Mohan Raja, Salman is expected to do a pivotal cameo in the film.

In the Malayalam film, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran played the lead. Reportedly, Salman might essay the role of Sukumaran in the Telugu remake. Presently, the crew is camping in Mumbai and approximately 60 per cent of the shoot is completed. The makers have planned to release the film in five languages — Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is ready with the release of his upcoming two films, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and Tiger 3. While Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will release on December 30, Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif will hit the theatres on Eid 2023. In Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, Salman will romance Pooja Hegde for the first time.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the comedy-drama will hit the theatres three days after Salman’s 57th birthday. Now, that surely gives his fans double reason to celebrate. The film is directed by Farhad Samji, who is in news for the much-awaited Akshay Kumar-starrer Bachchhan Paandey.

Salman Khan and Nadiadwala go back a long way. This is Salman’s seventh collaboration with the producer after films such as Judwaa , Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega , Mujhse Shaadi Karogi , and Kick . In fact, when Sajid Nadiadwala turned director with Salman’s Kick.
