Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) is set to come up with 100 Swavalamban Connect Kendras (SCKs) in five states of the country to give a boost to the entrepreneurship spirit. This initiative is under SIDBI’s Mission Swavalamban which aims to create more jobs in the society. The five states that will be covered under this initiative are Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Telangana.
The 100 SCKs will help in setting up 7,000 enterprises from scratch and will also provide support to existing livelihood/enterprises to grow. SIDBI has roped in LetsEndorse Development Pvt. Ltd to facilitate this initiative. The major objective of the initiative is to strengthen the Mission Swavalamban by moving from the awareness stage, to enterprise setting up and stepping up including conversion of calls into informed leads, mapping gaps for suitable engagement, handholding for setting up an enterprise, credit connect and so on.
On this occasion Mohammad Mustafa, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI said,
“This initiative is a part of our SIDBI Vision 2.0 under which Mission Swavalamban is our umbrella initiative. This step is to move up from awareness and ensure in facilitating conversion of entrepreneurial dreams into reality. We aim to touch the lives of youth and unserved/underserved segments and evolve them to realize the New India in making.”

Toll-free missed call service
SIDBI also launched a toll-free missed call service (1800-200-1265) where aspiring entrepreneurs can give a missed call for assistance related to setting up of an enterprise. The service will be operational from November 1, 2019. The leads/calls will be directed to nearest SCK for desired assistance based on Postal Index Number (PIN) of call originating location. To promote entrepreneurial culture among youth, thereby inspiring them to become job creators instead of job seekers, motivational and inspirational videos and jingles on entrepreneurship shall be played at SCK display panel and on digital platform/online portal of SCK and radio channels. The SCK shall also help them through camps, experience-sharing mechanism, focused group discussions among stakeholders, including bankers, handholding support for setting up enterprise, credit linkage, localised project profiles and so forth.
