Vidisha Srivastava is new Anita Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai

Mumbai: Again, Gori Mem aka Anita Bhabi has been replaced. Yes, you guessed it right. We are talking about the cult TV comedy show, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Ever since Saumya Tandon left the show on August 21, 2020, it seems the makers are having a tough time finding the ‘right Gori Mem’. Well, they did find actress Nehha Pendse but now she has also bid adieu to the show. Enters actress Vidisha Srivastava as the new Anita Bhabi.

Vidisha Srivastava is quite a known name in the film and television industry, thanks to her powerful performances across Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam.

Expectedly, Vidisha Srivastava is excited to play one of the most-loved characters on the show. She informed that she has always enjoyed watching the comedy programme, however, never imagined to star in it. Thanking producers Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli, Vidisha said, “It can never be easy to portray an iconic character as the audience tends to have a certain love and affection towards the actor and the character. But I am ready to take up the responsibility.”

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai recently celebrated the seventh anniversary of the show. As the show completed seven years on March 2, the entire cast and crew celebrated the milestone with a cake-cutting ceremony. Talking about this momentous journey, producer Sanjay Kohli of Edit II Productions, said, “For seven years, the show has been one of the most popular television shows, with a loyal audience base. The show holds a very special place in my heart.”

Actor Aasif Sheikh, who plays the character of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra on the show, shared, “It is a big moment for all of us. It is a surreal feeling. The show and its characters’ popularity are testimonials to our hard work. I have worked in this industry for almost three decades, and I am overwhelmed by the fact that this show has allowed me to play more than 300 characters, which has given me global recognition.”

Shubhangi Atre aka Angoori Bhabi said, “We are so grateful for the continued love and appreciation to our show. It means a lot to us. Each of our characters has stood out and have become an audience favourite.”
