Stressful Sundays For Mothers In East India
Sunday is supposed to be the most relaxing day of the week for most people. 54% moms across East India think otherwise. According to survey conducted by Voltbek Home Appliances Private Limited (Voltbek), a JV between India’s No. 1 AC Brand, Voltas and Europe’s leading free standing consumer durables player, Arçelik.
The survey aims to provide a deeper understanding about the preferences and behaviours of Indian mothers and the results highlight the disparity between expectations and reality of Sundays for mothers. Sundays are more stressful than weekdays due to household chores and preparations for the coming week, resulting in less of “me time”. 58% moms said that they wake up between 5am to 8am on Sundays while 37% moms in East India end their Sunday between 11pm and 12am.
Why Sunday’s Need A Rethink For Mothers
Thus weekends are supposedly more stressful than weekdays and majority of the women feel it. A mother has many responsibilities to fulfil. Ensuring that a child is brought up well, requires the effort of not just the mother, but the father as well. But a mother play an more important role in bringing up a child. As the child begins to grow, the mother has to oversee all of it, from taking their responsibilities to looking after their daily chores, taking them to schools, preparing their food, looking after their primary needs from Monday to Sunday 24/7.
Voltbek feels motherhood is difficult phase. If it can be called as the most beautiful and the most joyous experience that a ‘first-time-mother’ goes through, it also entails a lot of responsibilities. From the time, a mother is carrying a child, till the time the child is born- is the most amazing experience a woman can go through. But what happens when the baby is born and starts to grow? Well, a mother has many responsibilities to fulfil.
