A workshop to counsel Maharashtra State Prison Department officers and staff was conducted at the Daulatrao Jadhav Training Centre, Yerawada, in Pune, on September 16 and 17, 2019. The two-day workshop, Ujjwal’s System of Productivity (USP), was held to help the officers and staff members re-engineer their minds and cope with life issues, during and after their service tenure. The event was an outcome of ADG (Prisons) Sunil Ramanand’s concern for jail staff. Trisharan Enlightenment Foundation, an NGO, responded to this concern and arranged the workshop as part of their social responsibility.
USP is a pioneering life skills coaching programme designed and developed by Ujjwal Uke, retired Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra. The programme imparts a scientific technique to discover one’s inner potentials and fulfil the goals by training and transforming thoughts and by helping individuals structure their lives. It aims at helping officers overcome obstacles to living a healthy and peaceful life. The programme also includes a 40-minute, one-on-one coaching session.
The course was attended by over 30 personnel and had a positive outcome in harnessing their strengths. Being mindful is the key to emotional health that helps in leading a productive personal and professional life.
‘The workshop is about a scientific technique to achieve one’s aspirations. We begin by explaining the theory and then teaching the ways of applying it in real life. I’ve developed the technique over years of study and research. With my experience as an IAS officer, I want to help people on ways to direct positive commands and empower them in achieving their objectives in life’
- USP Founder IAS Ujjwal Uke
‘Happy family lives’
‘Having such an experienced and skilled person as Ujjwal Uke to conduct this life skills workshop was very important. It’ll empower us and pave the path of contentment. I’m confident it’ll show positive changes in the lives of our officers. It’ll also give them happy family lives, which is our end goal — to have satisfied and happy officers’
