Yashoda Hospitals expands its India footprint with new clinic in Kolkata, to focus on neurology, oncology & cardiology

It’s always good news for the residents when a new hospital or a clinic with advanced technologies opens its doors to the patients of a city. Yashoda Group of Hospitals has established its name for over three decades in Hyderabad and now, it has expanded its footprint in Kolkata, too. No, we don’t get a hospital from the popular group yet but the super specialty hospital has launched a well-equipped clinic at Salt Lake in Kolkata, to provide a slew of medical technologies and services to patients in the eastern region and Bangladesh.

The newly-established clinic will focus on a range of specialties including gastroenterology, neurology, orthopedics, urology, oncology, nephrology, pulmonology, and cardiology. The clinic will guide in terms of tele-medicine services for all super specialties. The service includes second opinions and treatment estimates, pre bookings, and end-to-end assistance for patients, who are planning to visit Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad for treatment.

“Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad offers the best medical services for lung transplant which is yet to be available in the eastern region. During the past year, we have carried out over 200 liver and 35 lung transplants and catered to patients from 45 countries across the globe providing world class medical services by carrying out complicated surgical procedures,” said Dr Pavan Gorukanti, director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, Hyderabad.

Dr Gorukanti informed Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad is gearing up to introduce the latest MR Linac (MRI-based) technology for the first time in India. “Currently, there are only 50 such installations of this technology worldwide, which has a very high efficacy level with less side effects for cancer patients. Also, Yashoda Hospitals has achieved the milestone of providing Rapid Arc technology treatment to over 25,000 cancer patients, which is the highest in India,” he said.

He further added, “The largest number of bone-marrow transplants in India has been carried out by Yashoda Hospitals along with multi-organ cadaver transplants in which we have achieved domain expertise.”

The Kolkata launch is yet another step by Yashoda Hospitals to expand its presence across India, especially to make ‘quality healthcare’ more accessible to the people in the east and North East states.

Currently, the group has more than 40 super specialty clinics across West Bengal and North East which include Siliguri, Durgapur, Agartala, Guwahati, Kolkata, Cooch Behar and Birbhum. The hospital plans to do more than 60 OPD clinics by 2023 to cater to more patients.
