Inside Aerocity’s New ‘World St.’: The Open Plate Festival, Kutle Khan, and India’s First Time Out Market
If you are looking for an elevated alternative to the usual Cyber Hub or Connaught Place weekend crawl, Aerocity is officially raising the stakes.
This Saturday, October 31, GMR Aerocity is formally launching World St. at Worldmark—a massive half-kilometer, pedestrian-friendly promenade spanning Worldmark 4, 5, and 6. Dubbed “The Social Spine of Worldmark,” the space is designed to transform the capital’s premier global business district into a highly walkable, cosmopolitan lifestyle hub.
To celebrate the launch, Worldmark is hosting Open Plate, an all-day, open-air music and culinary festival. Here is exactly what to expect from the capital’s newest luxury dining mile this weekend.
The Real Draw: Global F&B Heavyweights Arrive
While the live music is a major draw, the true headline for Delhi-NCR’s culinary scene is the retail real estate. World St. is ushering in the highly anticipated Indian debuts of several global food and beverage heavyweights.
The promenade will feature India’s very first Time Out Market (the globally renowned food and cultural market that curates a city’s best chefs under one roof), alongside the launch of Olive Garden and a flagship Lindt experiential outlet. Surrounded by alfresco dining setups and green courtyards, World St. is aggressively positioning itself as the most Instagrammable, high-net-worth dining mile in the country.
The Open Plate Festival: Music & Community
To christen the new promenade, the Open Plate festival will run from noon until late evening, blending high-energy live performances with Aerocity’s premium hospitality.
The stage at The Commons (Gateway District) will feature a highly curated lineup, transitioning from daytime acoustic sets to heavy evening beats:
- The Headliners: Renowned folk maestro Kutle Khan will bring his distinctive, high-energy Rajasthani sound to the stage. Later in the evening, DJ Sumit Sethi, backed by a massive entourage of Nashik drummers, will take over for a high-octane set.
- Emerging Talent: Throughout the afternoon, artists and performers from Project Launchpad (an independent music initiative by Worldmark) will provide the perfect ambient soundtrack for those exploring the new outdoor cafes and courtyards.
